Trade Deadline

The Montreal Canadiens made in 14 straight against the Toronto Maple Leafs, thanks in large part to Alex Galchenyuk and Andrew Shaw’s OT winner, giving them a much needed 3-2 win.

Coach K goes over last night’s battle, and also discusses some trade rumours, teams that have called the Habs thus far, and Marc Bergevin being on the hot seat with Canadiens’ ownership.

Some trade deadline afterthoughts while watching the Bruins-Panthers game Sunday night:

–Seeing Roberto Luongo as a Panther again really has me in a time warp and feeling a bit old. So much has happened in my own life since he last donned what was a different Panthers jersey in 2006. But all that maybe some day gets told in a tell-all book that nobody will care about. For now, let’s think about what’s happened for Luongo since then and what may happen in the remaining six seasons on his contract that will pay him $4.5 million per season.

Both teams still looked like they were suffering from an Olympic break hangover, at times looking awful, but the Montreal Canadiens managed to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Penguins and win in a shootout 6-5 at the Xcel Energy Center. Join Corey Collard and Nick Murdocco, along with Kristina Ashqar, Rick Springhetti and Coach K as they try to make some sense of the questionable officiating and some of the decision made in overtime by Habs’ coach Michel Therrien.
